|
The
Goizueta Foundation has made a $2 million gift to the University of
Miami in support of the Cuban Heritage Collection. A part of Momentum2:
The Breakthrough Campaign for the University of Miami, $1 million of
this gift will endow The Goiuzeta Graduate Fellowship Program, allowing
the CHC to continue awarding research opportunities to doctoral
candidates from across the United States. Additionally, The Goizueta
Foundation has challenged the University of Miami to raise $500,000 in
support of the CHC. Once these funds are secured, the foundation will
match with a gift of $1 million for the second endowment to support the

Now on Display: OCHOA: Remembering the Life and Legacy of Maestro Manuel Ochoa
Drawing
from his personal papers, the CHC's spring exhibition commemorates the
life and work of Cuban-born conductor and orchestra director Manuel
Ochoa (1925-2006), whose passion for music led him from Cuba to Austria
and Spain and back. In exile, he worked with other Cuban artists to
bring to life the traditional music of Cuba and Spain, most notably
through the Miami Symphony Orchestra, which he founded and led for
almost two decades. Please visit this exhibition in the Roberto C.
